Eat What you Like !!

Project overview

Tailor sandwich app is regional sandwich app maker located in the one of towns of California. This app helps people customize their sandwich according to individual preferences. This app is targeted the people who live in the town.

Year: 2017 - 2018
My role: UX designer designing an app for Tailor sandwich from start to end.

Problem : Busy working people who don't have time to cook.

Goals : This app allows people to order their food according to their preference and delivers food to their home.

Research

User research: pain points

1.Time:Working adults are too busy to spend time on meal prep.

2.Customize:Don’t want to default options given by restaurants.

3.Design:Text-heavy menus in apps are often difficult to read and order from.

Problem Statement:

Regina is a busy working Woman
who needs easy access to healthy food ordering options because they have no time to cook food for themself and for family.

Design process

Sandwich App

Paper wireframes:

Draft iterations of each screen of the app on paper ensured that the elements that made it to digital wireframes would be well-suited to address user pain points. For the home screen, I prioritized a quick and easy ordering process to help users save time.

Sandwich App

Digital wireframes:

As the initial design phase continued, I made sure to home screen designs based on feedback and findings from  the user research.

Sandwich App

Usability study: findings

Confused with Build your own and pickup, delivery options from home screen. Don't know which one to choose first.

Mockups

Removed the Build your own from the home screen because users confused between choosing the pickup/delivery and Build your sandwich

Sandwich App

High-fidelity prototype

The final high-fidelity prototype presented cleaner user flows for pickup or delivery option and building a sandwich and checkout. It also meet user needs for customizing a sandwich.

Learnings:

I have learned a lot things from this experience since it is my first app.

  • How usability study is very important to iterate through the design process.

  • Last but not least feedback is key for getting better designs and helps you to be a better designer.
